Located at 111, rue la Fayette Paris 10Γ¨me, it’s a place where one finally grants oneself some time, of at least an hour visit, that seems to pass by in a flash.

A place where we create a customized mattress, upgradeable and sustainable thanks to a patented system, unique in the world.

But in order to favor calm, the designers chose to lead the clients on the first floor in a plush and muffled atmosphere, comfortable, away from the street, in darker colors, night blue of course, in order to appease the gaze and favor the quality of a trustful exchange with the sleep advisor.

No mattresses display on the horizon. After a tea or a coffee, it will be time to turn to your advisor and the mattress creation system.

You’ll order the creation of your mattress by Maurice & la Matelasserie through a unique ritual. According to what you are, to your environment, to your habits.

You’ll need to share some intimate secrets with us. The kind of sheets (percale cotton, linen, satin or jersey cotton), the importance you give to sleep, your demand for natural materials or not, your allergies. All those details, and many more, will influence the making of your personal mattress.

During an individual meeting in our Matelasserie, in an environment thought by the designers Marc Venot and Antoine Lesur, a singular experience will allow you to seize the subtle variations of each material, of each technology. Accompanied by your matelassier, you’ll travel through different materials to discover what is the very best for you.

You can wear the Maurice & la matelasserie pyjama, thought by the fashion designer Wisharawish, or bring your own one.

Then finally, explore your intuition, your desires and create the mattress of your dreams.

This creation is not fixed, it evolves with you. Login to your personal space, book an appointment and your matelassier will guide you through this change.

The Mattress by Maurice & la Matelasserie is a powerful, evolving, creation to which only the sleeper/napper/reader holds the key. Evolving, source of an individual experience, it is associated to both sensations and morphology of sleepers. The Mattress is both subjectively and objectively built. Oscillating between technical (pressure imaging technology, characteristic of materials) and sensations.

The Workshop

To be a matelassier*, is to be a saddler, an upholsterer, a sewer, a carpenter, a cabinetmaker. The savoir-faire is multiple. This singularity becomes evident once the visitor arrives to the atelier of a matelassier. The atelier at the 111 is a space dedicated to house techniques related to fabric (upholstery/sewing) and those of woodwork are situated at Coincy l’Abbaye.

The space Maurice & la Matelasserie is an atelier made to achieve the most demanding personalization. There, you will be able to get very close to the confection of your mattress.

The gallery

Maurice invites creators, artists and artisans to transform themselves into curators and stay a season at la Matelasserie du 111. They will dialoque with the unique savoir-faire of the atelier at the 111 (matelasserie, sewing, uphostery) and those of the atelier at Coincy l’Abbaye (cabinetmaking, carpentry, coating, ironworking).

The room adjacent to the atelier will be arranged by the curator. Reproduction of their natural habitat or ephemeral creation, the furniture and, of course, the mattresses will be made by the ateliers of Maurice & la Matelasserie.

A telephone as well as a computer station will allow the curator to contact stars of the design, little hands, brands, to convince them, within the editorial line defined by the curator, to contribute, exhibit, create.

These objects will be presented and commercialized at the ground floor of the 111.

The vocation of this residence is to create interactivity between the ateliers of Maurice & la Matelasserie and the creators, as well as promote the rare savoir-faire of the ateliers, where 20% of the object references developed by the curator need to be made.
